Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Peninsula Lawns ("we," "us," "our") governing your use of our website at peninsulalawns.com (the "Site") and the services we provide ("Services"). By using the Site or booking our Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Our services
Peninsula Lawns provides residential and small-commercial landscape services including lawn mowing, seasonal cleanup, sprinkler and irrigation repair, tree trimming, mulch installation, landscape design and installation, Christmas light installation, and related outdoor services. Scope, frequency, and price are agreed to when you book.
2. Instant quotes and estimates
The price shown in our instant-quote tool is a good-faith estimate based on satellite imagery of your property and the service you select. The final price may differ if the property is materially different from what we observed from satellite, if access is restricted, if additional work is required, or if the scope of work changes. Any change to the estimate will be communicated to you before work begins.
3. Free first visit
New customers may be eligible for a free first visit. The free visit applies to standard mowing only and is limited to one free visit per property. Peninsula Lawns may decline or modify the free visit offer at its discretion, including for properties outside our service area, properties that require work beyond standard mowing, or properties where safe access cannot be confirmed.
4. Scheduling and access
We schedule visits on a recurring weekly or bi-weekly basis for most customers. We'll send SMS and/or email before your visit. You're responsible for providing safe access to the property — clearing gates, putting away pets, and notifying us of any hazards. We may reschedule or skip a visit if conditions are unsafe (severe weather, locked gates, unrestrained animals, active construction). A skipped visit due to access issues may still be billed.
5. Payments
We bill via credit card, ACH, or check. Ongoing service is billed monthly in advance or as agreed. Late payments may incur a late fee of 1.5% per month or the maximum allowed by law. If a payment is more than 30 days overdue, we may pause service until the balance is paid.
6. Cancellation
You may cancel service at any time by contacting us at least 48 hours before your next scheduled visit. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance may be billed for the already-scheduled visit. Prepaid bundles are refunded on a pro-rata basis for unused visits.
7. Property and damage
We treat every property with care. If we damage plants, sprinkler heads, fencing, or other property during a visit due to our negligence, we will repair or replace the damaged item at our expense. Promptly notify us of any damage. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, damage caused by weather, wildlife, or third parties, or for items not clearly visible or not disclosed to us.
8. Insurance and licensing
Peninsula Lawns is licensed as a California Landscape Contractor (C-27) and carries general liability and workers' compensation insurance. Certificates are available on request.
9. Warranties
We warrant that we will perform our Services with reasonable skill and care consistent with industry standards. For installed materials (sod, plants, irrigation components), manufacturer warranties pass through to you. We make no other warranties, express or implied, including no implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Peninsula Lawns' total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Use of the Site
You agree not to misuse the Site, including: interfering with its operation, attempting to access it by automated means without permission, reverse-engineering it, or using it for any unlawful purpose. Content on the Site — including text, photos, logos, and layout — is owned by Peninsula Lawns and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce or redistribute it without our written permission.
12. SMS communications
By submitting a booking or quote request with your mobile number, you agree to receive transactional SMS messages from Peninsula Lawns. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. See our Privacy Policy for details.
13. Dispute resolution and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Mateo County, California, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts. Before filing any lawsuit, you agree to first contact us in writing and give us 30 days to resolve the dispute in good faith.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or a banner on the Site. Continued use of the Services after the update means you accept the new Terms.
